About
randslip is a take-home pay calculator for South Africa — for employees who want an honest monthly number after PAYE and UIF. Every figure traces to a named source, with the date it was last checked.

What this is
randslip is a take-home pay calculator for South Africa — for employees who want an honest monthly number after PAYE and UIF, with the employer’s UIF and SDL shown clearly on top rather than hidden as deductions. It models the 2027 tax year (1 March 2026 to 28 February 2027): the SARS marginal scale, the age-based rebates, the Medical Scheme Fees Tax Credit, and the capped employee UIF.
How the numbers are handled
Every rate and amount comes from a single, provenance-tracked data source — each value is either sourced from a primary authority such as SARS or derived and recomputed. None of it has been through our final sign-off, and the notice at the foot of every page states where the figures come from, that a recent change may not be reflected yet, and that nothing here has been signed off. Where a figure is still uncertain — the Section 11F retirement-deduction cap and the minimum-wage gazette text — the copy hedges it rather than asserting it flat.
Honest by design
The one thing calculators most often get wrong about South Africa is treating employer costs as employee deductions. This tool keeps them apart: your take-home is only ever reduced by PAYE and your own UIF, while the matching employer UIF and the employer-only SDL are surfaced as separate on-costs.

What it does not cover
The scope is deliberately narrow: a resident individual in standard monthly employment, taxed through PAYE. It does not model provisional tax, the valuation of fringe benefits, travel or other allowances, additional or investment income, non-resident cases, or the year-end assessment. For anything beyond a standard monthly salary, treat the result as an orientation figure only. The figures follow the sources cited on each page and carry no final sign-off from us.
